ANCONA She thought of everything when she went to pay her last respects to a dear deceased friend, except to hunt for an unobtainable car park. So she left the car along the slope that leads to the new Torrette mortuary because the places reserved for visitors – rather limited – were full. Upon returning, she found a parking ticket on the windshield.

The story

«The report is from 4.38pm and the mortuary closes at 5pm», complains the sanctioned woman, a mother from Ancona, not the only one to have been beaten by the police on Friday afternoon when the morgue of the regional hospital, inaugurated at beginning of the year, it was super crowded: many red and white ultras, but not only, in tears over the death of Graziano Cappella, a historic frequenter of the Curva Nord, struck down at the age of 46 by a merciless illness. «I was mourning him on the coffin when some friends came to warn me of the presence of the police – says the woman -. I went out and found the fine on the windshield. One of the officers told my husband and other people present that the fine had been increased and he could only offer his condolences.”

The question

The woman does not dispute the fine, which is legitimate: “There is a parking ban there, I made a mistake, it is right that I pay and I did it within 5 days: 29 euros and 40 cents”, she says. Rather, she gets to the heart of the matter. «In front of the mortuary there are very few places, one where you should leave your car? she-wonders-she. There are spaces at the bottom of the slope, but they are always full. When you go to the hospital it’s certainly not to do some shopping: in itself it’s not right that you pay, but in any case you shouldn’t have to walk miles, especially when you go to visit a dear deceased friend. And the police command could also have a little sensitivity: fining people who mourn a dead person is not nice.”
