In the pages of the ordinance which last week led to the detection of the details, with attached instigators and material executors, of the murder of the municipal councilor of Castellammare di Stabia Luigi Tommasino, details emerge relating to other bloody events such as the attempted assassination of Antonio Russo, known as Antonio Sparam in Piett.
Justice collaborators Salvatore Belviso and Renato Cavaliere, in explaining the moments immediately preceding the politician’s murder, which occurred in 2009, also recounted what happened to Russo, who miraculously escaped an ambush in which he found himself almost by chance.
Salvatore Belviso said that Luigi Tommasino had already initially escaped the execution ordered by the leaders of the D’Alessandro clan: “Around 8.30pm Tommasino Luigi got into the Lancia Musa and left. The murder certainly could not have been committed at that time due to heavy traffic. However, we followed Tommasino for a while: me aboard my SH Sport 125 and Romano Catello and Polito Raffaele aboard the stolen SH”. And it is just as the firing squad momentarily desists from committing the murder of the PD city councilor, that Raffaele Polito glimpses Antonio Russo.
“Behind the bricciatella, before the roundabout, Polito Raffaele, who was driving the stolen SH, asked me if he could remove a stone from his shoe by shooting at a person he had seen behind the bricciatella. Polito Raffaele told me that that person had bullied him several years earlier. I, without giving too much weight to the question, answered yes, recommending him to get off the motorcycle and kill that person. Lello Romano then took the revolver that Polito Raffaele was holding and said that he would deal with it – we read in the minutes signed by Belviso – I went ahead and, after hearing the bangs (if I remember correctly, three), I slowed down to wait for Romano and Polito. When the two reached me I asked them if everything was okay. The two replied to me that they had seen the person collapse on the ground. Romano complained because, while he was going down to make fire, Polito Raffaele had accelerated his march, preventing him from getting out of the vehicle. I pointed out that, by not killing that person, we had created a casino”.
Renato Cavaliere also returned to the issue
“My cumpariello, that is Romano Catello, had made a mess, shooting, without managing to kill him, Antonio Sparam in piett, brother-in-law of the collaborator of Justice Ciruzzo Avella, who was potentially a person to be killed, being a relative of a collaborator of Justice who committed the crimes in Castellammare di Stabia. Antonio Shoot me in the chest in fact cheated on insurance companies. Although Ciruzzo Avella’s declarations had not impressed the D’Alessandro family much, Antonio Sparami in Petto was not very well regarded and he was a person we could shoot, even without a specific indication from Enzo D’Alessandro, who had limited himself to saying that we had to kill the collaborators of Justice and those who supported them even by committing crimes in Castellammare di Stabia”.
