“A pioneer of Irpinia’s industry, but also an intellectual and political leader of absolute quality, passes away with Umberto Petitto. He was one of the last living founders of the glorious group of ‘Irpinian autonomy’, the Christian Democratic component that harked back to Gerardo Bianco, in which I I am honored to have trained. I am close with affection to his wife Chiara, his children and his entire beautiful and large family.” Thus Gianfranco Rotondi expresses his condolences to the Petitto family.

In these hours there are numerous messages reaching his wife Chiara, his children Katia, Ilaria and Angelo.

The Irpinia entrepreneur passed away this morning, but leaves an indelible trace of his life through everything he achieved, always side by side with his beloved wife Chiara.
The Petitto group, formed by “Elbor Spa” and “CTP Srl” and of which the “Donnachiara” wine company has also been part since 2005, was born from the innate entrepreneurial talent, intuition and great work of Umberto Petitto.

“A professor of literature who became one of the great Italian industrialists and who had the ability to reinvent himself in different moments of his life”, defined him as Riccardo Cotarella, one of the most well-known and esteemed oenologists in Italy.

The funeral of Umberto Petitto will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 4 June, at the Santa Maria delle Grazie Church at 4:00 pm.
