(Teleborsa) – The commitment to the energy transition and, more generally, to sustainability issues in the nautical sector proved to be a central element on the occasion of the awarding of the “Venice for the Sea” Awardthe prestigious recognition given to five Italian and foreign personalities who have distinguished themselves for their commitment to the defence, protection and valorisation of the sea and maritime culture, awarded during the gala dinner organized by Assonautica Venezia in the context of Boat Show 2024.

The fifth edition of Venice Boat Showwhich took place at the arsenal from May 29 to June 2, was a great success with over 30 thousand visitors30 new construction sites, 15 world premieres and a total of 270 companieswhich presented over 300 boats, of which 240 docked on 1,100 meters of piers. The excellence of world boating is present, from Made in Italy which represents the first industry in the world for the construction of large boats, to the best of the major international shipyards, which have chosen Venice in search of new markets. Year after year, the presence of electrified boating is also growing, the protagonist of a market in slow but inexorable growth, inevitably penalized however by a charging infrastructure that is still lacking.

Among the five personalities/realities awarded there is l‘Fishing Organization Fasolari, for having created a sustainable and excellent fishing system, thanks to the planning of the quantity to be fished, which allows us to preserve fish stocks, guarantee a profit for the 72 boats of the cooperative and reduce waste and harmful emissions. The boats they fish only what is necessaryalready sold in advance, promoting a virtuous food supply chain and environmentally friendly.

Piero Mescalchin he gained recognition for his commitment to the “Tegnue di Chioggia” Biological Protection Areato which he contributed with over 2000 dives documented with videos and photos, with the production of books and films for schools and the public, increasing the knowledge and protection of the seabed.

Also awarded Juri Tiozzo Canarin for his dedication to promoting it powerboat sport among young peopletransmitting them values ​​of solidarity and healthy competitionthrough the organization of events for the Italian Powerboat Federation and free training.

TO Nino Gobbetti was recognized I work collecting beached plastic and thrown into the Venetian Lagoon with the initiative “Plastic Free”which mobilized over a thousand volunteers, creating a significant educational and moral movement.

The Professor Carlo Beltrame, finallyreceived the prestigious award for his thirty-year contribution to the research and protection of maritime archaeological heritage. As a teacher and researcher, he worked on the collection, study and conservation of finds, enriching museum collections and publishing numerous articles and monographs. His work has had a lasting impact on the field of maritime archaeology.

Our mission is to promote and support this transition, encouraging research and development of new technologies that make our waters cleaner. and our more environmentally friendly activities. The ‘Venezia per il Mare’ recognition is not only a reward for excellence, but also a reminder of collective responsibility”.
