“I will defend myself from a crime I didn’t commit”

“On June 5th I will enter the same courtroom where I was convicted of a crime I did not commit. This time too I will be there to defend myself.” This is what Amanda Knox, Meredith Kercher’s ex-roommate, writes convicted and later acquitted of murder of the English student in Erasmus in Perugia, on her profile Knox herself.

Now Amanda Knox has to defend himself again against the accusation of slander against Patrick Lumumba whom the woman, then twenty years old, had indicated as the murderer during an interrogation at the police station.

The European Court of Human Rights ruled that the interrogation was irregular and from this ruling there was a further appeal by the American which started the current trial. “I hope once and for all to clear my name from false accusations. Good luck” she writes again, and then in Italian “Good luck”.

Lumumba could also be present in the courtroom, having not met Amanda Knox for years after the accusation that he was the one who killed Meredith Kercher. For the crime he was sentenced on appeal to 16 years on charges of complicity in the murder of Rudy Guede. The man was the only one convicted of the Kercher crime.
