It took place this morning in the press room of the “City of Arezzo” stadium the first take of the 2024/2025 season SS Arezzo. The occasion for cutting the ribbon of the new year was the presentation to the press of the new Mister Amaranth, Emanuele TroiseNeapolitan born in ’79, who lands on the Cavallino bench after the positive experience of Rimini. After an excellent career as a player wearing the shirts of Napoli, Bologna, Ternana and Salernitana among others, Troise began his coaching career as Pecchia’s assistant at Latina. His path then passed through the youth teams of Bologna and then unraveled between Mantua, Cava dei Tirreni and Rimini. At the conference table, together with the new trainer, the president Guglielmo Manzo and the sports director Nello Cutolo who did the honors.
“After various meetings in my offices in Rome I had no difficulty choosing Troise – President Manzo began – the coach has totally embraced our idea of the type of path that Arezzo will have to follow and we think we have identified the right person to continue on the path of continuous improvement, after two wonderful years”.
“Mister Troise arrives in Arezzo after having completed a very important training course in recent years – continued director Cutolo – My choice is not only dictated by a twenty-year friendship with him, but above all this choice is the result of a careful 360-degree evaluation of the professional and I can therefore affirm that the coach arrives in Arezzo at the right time.”
After these necessary introductions Mister Troise he accepted questions from the many journalists present but not before thanking Rimini for the possibility granted to bring forward the timing of his arrival in Arezzo. “From the first seconds in which I sat at the table with the president and the director I had the perception of having before me a company that has a clear path in mind that it wants to follow. An ambitious path that immediately involved me and therefore it was easy for me to accept this challenge. This square carries with it a lot of history, both as a city and as a football club, which is why I am honored to be able to make all of myself available to this cause which for me must be a starting point but also a point of arrival, because I would like being able to raise the bar of my career together with these colors. Speaking of football, I don’t start from a fixed game system. My path has allowed me to gradually vary my form which, without prejudice to some fixed principles, must always respect the characteristics of the players available to put them in a position to be able to give their best. I know that Arezzo has done very well in the last two years and I know that we can start from a base and a well-established playing philosophy. My intention is precisely to continue with the same game model, having the fortune of being able to count on a large group of players who already know this score well. Basically, however, I like proactive football made of dynamism and determination which are two concepts that I will always fight for. Of the staff who will follow me in this adventure I can say that Mister Domenico Di Cecco will be with me, as assistant coach, and Professor Matteo Basile as athletic trainer. Maurizio Pecorari will also remain on the staff while for the other figures we are tightening the circle together with the director and in the next few days we will most likely announce some new additions. I have already had Pattarello and Guccione under me at very different times but apart from a few messages we did not feel that it was right to respect their roles. However, I can say that I am extremely happy to be able to train them again because I know what they can give. Both still have the opportunity to raise their level of play as do all the other players who will still be part of the Arezzo squad. We haven’t talked about the market yet but in these days we will lay the foundations to try to raise the level of the squad with a view to the path of improvement that the club wants. In today’s football it is important to have a competitive squad. Having choices in each role allows you to raise the level of weekly training, without forgetting that the five substitutions allowed today by the regulations and which I personally consider an added value, necessarily require a squad that is up to the situation. I am extremely happy to be able to work from today on this project that I can share with an audience that has always given me the impression, even as an opponent, of being an audience that pushes a lot”.
Even director Cutolo did not shy away from market questions. “The squad we start with has demonstrated in these two years that it is a top-quality squad, but above all an exceptional group. Let’s start from here trying to insert the right pieces to raise the level. As for the boys we had on loan from other clubs (Renzi, Donati, Coccia, Shaka Mawuli) I won’t deny that I’m talking to their agents to understand what chance we have of being able to have them back among us again. They did well so I would love to have them back in our group. I would like to point out that I am now an adopted Arezzo native and I know the importance of my role. I am happy to personally take on this responsibility which comes after two very formative years for me, and I can assure you that all the choices I will make will be dictated by the unconditional respect I have for this city and these fans.”.
When asked about the stadium topic, President Manzo replied: “We are finalizing the final project to be submitted to the municipal council for examination. We believe that everything can be defined by the end of this month. We have made all the necessary changes to ensure that the project is approved only at the municipal stage without having to go through other institutions which would significantly lengthen the time. We are confident in the successful outcome of the operation. As far as the market is concerned, the director has carte blanche. We have increased the budget available to him because we want to respect our plan for continuous growth. Goals? I would always like to win the championship without having to suffer much, but let’s say that playing the play-offs at home next year would be an excellent achievement. However, what interests us above all is consolidating ourselves at certain levels. We have reiterated in mind what our project and our ambition are but I cannot know the timing”.
