33 year old on trial for attempted murder

Blinded by jealousy, he allegedly persecuted his partner for years, even going so far as to try to strangle her. And now he will sit in the dock to defend himself against the accusations of attempted murder, aggravated bodily harm and continued extortion. This is what the prosecutor’s office accuses of a 33-year-old from Surbo, a municipality on the outskirts of Lecce, who will be subjected to immediate trial, as ordered by the investigating judge Giulia Proto at the request of the prosecutor Giorgia Villa.

The episodes

The 33-year-old is accused of a series of violent episodes against the alleged victim, his age, who is said to have constantly controlled, stalked and insulted him, even starting fights with other men when, according to him, his partner smiled or greeted them. The most serious episode, however, dates back to November 14th, when he attempted to strangle the young woman in their home: the latter managed to escape by biting his forearm, but – while trying to alert her brother – she was hit in the eye by a pocket emptier thrown at her by the 33-year-old and was then forced to go in hospital. The man is defended by the lawyer Andrea Capone; the alleged victim is assisted by the lawyer Gaetano Vissicchio.
