MODENA – An increasingly green Modena. The cycle path that leads from the bridge over the Panaro to Castelfranco Emilia has in fact been completed. Seven kilometers of which approximately one and a half kilometers are new, while the rest is on existing routes. Modena and Castelfranco, therefore, ever closer, in the name of sustainable mobility. In fact, the route is intended for both bicycles and pedestrians, allowing short routes: for example Modena-Villa Sorra of around five kilometers and the complete route between Modena and Castelfranco of ten kilometres. The cycle path is identified as section six of the Ciclovia del Sole: it connects to the Nature route which ends right at its starting point but also to the Via Romea Strada Longobarda Nonantolana. The highlight of the route is Villa Sorra, one of the most important historic villas in the Modena area, in whose park there is what is considered the most representative example of a nineteenth-century romantic garden, considered the most important among the informal gardens of Emilia Romagna.
