The Rho Municipality welcomed Thursday 30 May 2024 the ceremony of donation of a mannequin ultra-modern for training rescue operators. The association Martina’s friendsborn in 2004 after the untimely death of Martina Capri due to a rare disease, has collected several donations, thanks in particular to the generosity of the local police officers of the Rho and Pogliano Milanese commands and to the support of the Lions Club La Filanda di Arluno chaired by Carmine CapriMartina’s father.
The mannequin was donated to Rho Soccorso in the presence of the municipal administration of Rho and Pogliano Milanese and of the commander of the Rho carabinieri, lieutenant Luigi Pino.
«We are grateful for this mannequin which represents an innovative model, equipped with telemetry and an application that allows those carrying out the exercise to understand whether they are carrying out the life-saving maneuvers as best as possible. Training is key, we are present in all schools, from kindergarten to high school. We teach how to use 112 and understand what the first things to do in case of emergency are. Training volunteers is essential: they are the soul of our group», has explained Fabrizio Pregliascopresident of Rho Soccorso, a company active in Rho for 47 years now.
«Since I retired, my commitment to the association born to remember my daughter it has become more intense and I want to involve the municipal administrations to make them understand how seriously we are working. I also thank the “Rosso al sunset” srl, which for seven years has helped us give greater visibility to what we do by bringing our message to some local TV stations: this has brought a return in terms of donations. The next project, thanks to the traditional volleyball tournament, is the purchase of a pediatric helmet for magnetic resonance imaging”, he highlighted Carmine Capri.
On the part of the local administrations, praise for those who are committed to the common good by dedicating time and energy to others and the memory of Martina who continues to give hope to other people. A special thank you to the officers who continue to donate silently, maintaining a solid bond with Carmine Capri, first active in the local police of Rho and then commander in Pogliano.
In these twenty years the Friends of Martina have donated instruments and equipment for the Cancer Institute of Milan, Rho Soccorso, schools and associations in the area. They also donated 25 thousand euros in scholarships for researchers.
