The ceremony to commemorate the 210 years of life of the Meritorious Woman will take place in Reggio Emilia in one of the most beautiful and symbolic squares of our city: Piazza San Prospero, signifying the importance of the value of proximity that the Reggio Emilia Carabinieri intend to guarantee to citizens . A special anniversary since after last year’s tragic flood, which imposed moments of suffering and mourning, the Carabinieri of Emilia-Romagna also canceled any form of celebration in solidarity with the affected populations.
In Reggio Emilia the Carabinieri return to celebrate the anniversary together with the citizens, in one of the most beautiful and symbolic places of the Reggio Emilia capital. It will be a strongly felt military ceremony which will see the participation of the main civil and military authorities of Reggio Emilia and the province, of representatives of soldiers serving in the various departments of the Province, of their respective families, of the Army personnel on leave, of the citizens and numerous students.
A training company will be deployed in the square, made up of a platoon in Special Grand Uniform of Brigadiers, Officers and Carabinieri serving at the Carabinieri stations of the Provincial Command, a platoon made up of representatives of station commanders, forestry units and non-commissioned officers of the province of Reggio Emilia and a mixed platoon made up of Carabinieri generally employed in territorial control, Ski Carabinieri, Carabinieri in public order uniform as well as forestry Carabinieri in operational uniform. Also present is the banner of the National Blue Ribbon Institute and the combatant associations as well as the banner of the city of Reggio Emilia decorated with a gold medal for military valour. In the square also a representative of the National Carabinieri Association on leave alongside the members of the staff of the Conservatory of Reggio Emilia and Castelnovo Monti Peri Morulo, who will accompany the ceremony by playing the various pieces. After the rendering of honors to the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Reggio Emilia, Colonel Andrea Milani, the messages of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Agenda of the General Commander of the Carabinieri Army Corps General Teo Luzi will be given . Then the intervention of the Provincial Commander, Colonel Andrea Milani, who will be responsible, as every year, for the task of tracing the institutional activity carried out by the Army, at the end of which the certificates of merit will be delivered for some of the operational results considered most significant achieved by the Army’s soldiers during the year. During the ceremony there will also be the traditional presentation of the scholarships, granted by the Manodori Foundation to the children of members of the Carabinieri whose parents serve within the territory of the Provincial Command of Reggio Emilia or to orphans of members of the Carabinieri. ‘Carabinieri who have had their last place of service in the same territory, who have distinguished themselves most in scholastic disciplines. The ceremony will then end with the reading of the Carabiniere’s Prayer by a soldier from the Provincial Command of Reggio Emilia.
