The Solidarity Container leaves Terni with aid to the Cuban people with clothes and medicines

The load from Terni for the Solidarity Container 2024 has been completed and ready to be shipped to Cuba, as a sign of thanks for what the Cuban doctors in Italy did during the Covid emergency and for the help also provided by Calabria. «There is still 2500 euros missing to cover the travel cost of the Solidarity Container 2024 which is now overflowing, support it» is the appeal of the Sentieri Partigiani association which promoted the initiative.

The material was delivered in Rome last weekend to the La Villetta per Cuba warehouses. There are five pallets in total, divided into three pallets of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, household linen, stationery and school supplies, two pallets of healthcare material and various medical devices.
«A great result obtained with effort and passion – they explain – it is not possible to precisely identify the value of the donations, but we are certainly talking about many tens of thousands of euros at a local level, which add up to a decidedly important total at a national level , in conclusion, an extraordinary demonstration of affection and closeness to the Cuban people and to the Caribbean country which has proven to be a friend of Italy in the past and present, sending entire medical brigades in the acute phase of the Covid-19 emergency and in the current disastrous Calabrian healthcare system ».

However, as every year, our heartfelt thanks go to comrade Luciano Iacovino and the La Villetta per Cuba association, who allow us to support them in this which has now been a consolidated practice over the course of many years. In fact, they have the greatest burden, namely that of collecting all the donations and organizing the shipment of the large 40-foot container by sea.”
