The Pact for Cesena list made up of Pri and Azione launches an idea, an Under 25 ‘city council’. “An institutional pact is proposed. Alongside the city council of those elected by the citizens, a Youth Council should also be created”.
A note explains: “The speed of technology and a constantly changing world create a lack of communication between generations. Adults do not understand young people; young people do not know how to make themselves heard by adults. We propose the Voice of the Young, a Council made up of representatives – from 16 to 25 years old – from high schools, universities, the world of work and trade unions. The Voice of Young People will have full autonomy with respect to municipal politics and will be able to approve proposals, projects and directions for the city”.
“The proposals developed by the Youth Council – continues Patto per Cesena – will be placed on the agenda of the work of the commissions and the City Council for discussion and possible approval. Often the youthful sensitivities experienced by students and workers are not listened to in the Institutions. This is where the younger generations’ disinterest in politics comes from. The only way to fight the plague is to involve them in the decision-making process to make their point of view count.”
