The reconstruction

The episode dates back to a few days ago when the attention of some agents engaged in an intervention inside the shopping center was called by a manager of the Ipercoop telephone department who reported to them the presence of a suspicious person and by the very unkempt appearance, later identified as the 46-year-old Croatian.

An certainly unusual event, but unfortunately blocked by the ATM which did not authorize the transaction as the credit was not sufficient. At that point, the 46-year-old left the shopping center and then returned to the telephone department to try to purchase items of a lower value than the previous ones with the debit card.

The officers, having been alerted, immediately noticed the subject, already known to the police for precedents linked to crimes against property and people and for the improper use of credit cards, with several packs of electronic material such as Bluetooth in his hands. , earphones and two USB cables for smartphones. Upon seeing the police, the man, to defend himself, before being asked any questions, declared that he was doing nothing wrong other than making personal purchases.

Considering his previous records and according to the account of the head of the telephone department, the officers proceeded to search the 46-year-old who was found in possession not only of the smartphone he had just purchased, but also of an ATM, car keys, and a 50 euro banknote. euros, a pair of scissors and another telephone. Material owned by a 74 year old lady from Imola living in the centre.

Not being able to explain the matter, the man admitted that shortly before he had stolen a bag from a car parked in the Villa Clelia area, then thrown it on the street before going on his bicycle to do some “shopping” at the shopping centre. Thanks to his story, the officers managed to recover the bag containing the personal effects of the robbed woman, which was returned to her at the police station. She, in the complaint, stated that she had left the bag, unfortunately with the ATM code inside, for a few moments in the parked car with the window slightly lowered on the driver’s side, remembering having noticed the 46-year-old who was wandering around. in Zone. Yet another confirmation of the theft committed by the man.
