For the national leader of the PSI, Perugia’s candidate Merita “embodies the reformist ideals of the party”
The national leader of the PSI, Bobo Craxi, engaged in the electoral tour in support of Tiziano Busca and other candidates of the United States of Europe list, stopped in Perugia on Saturday 1 June to confirm the party’s official support for Massimo Monni, candidate Mayor for Perugia Deserves.
In his all-round speech, which ranged from the War in Ukraine and the Middle East to the memory of Giacomo Matteotti, Craxi underlined that Monni, due to his political origins which have their roots in the PSI and due to his skills and knowledge of the territory, is the figure who can best represent the party in the next administrative elections in Perugia, so as to shake up the radical right and left, reasoning on a broader concept that includes traditionally reformist and liberal forces.
“I thank Bobo Craxi for his support – stated Massimo Monni -, which is nothing other than the confirmation of the fact that the official PSI has sided with Perugia Merita and that after years it has chosen to support a mayoral candidate of socialist culture such as I am ”.
“This synergy – concluded Monni – is reflected in a common vision regarding the European elections, where we converge towards the United States of Europe – with us also Italia Viva which, in turn, has come to my support – as a common home animated by an overall vision that brings the ideals of democracy and peace back to the centre”.
