Palermo, 01 June 2024 – “In recent weeks we have brought to the attention of councilors Turano and Albano a series of demands that have long been on the political agenda of our organisations, both trade and confederal, to protect not only workers of professional training, but also and above all of Sicilians who need a transparent and quality training system”. This was stated by Michele Vivaldi, Honorè Federico, Ninni Panzica and Cipriano Sciacca representing respectively Flc Cgil, Cisl Scuola, Uil Scuola and Confsal Sicilia.
“The right to work and labor rights – they add – are not disconnected from an effective and efficient education system with a view to relaunching professional training as a tool for local development, innovation and a decisive social role. We asked and obtained that politics take charge of our requests and we consider the availability of councilor Turano and councilor Albano appreciable who on 17 May 2024 convened all the trade union organizations and related confederations to find a single and definitive on the platform of demands of Flc Cgil, Cisl Scuola, Uil Scuola Rua and Confsal to give transparency to the system starting from the calls for recruitment of personnel to be employed in the training courses, to the publication of the calls and the related rankings on the departmental sites and finally in the wanting to address the issue of the adoption for accreditation purposes of a national employment contract that gives all operators equal pay and contributions”.
“We therefore asked councilor Turano – they continue – for a specific consultation table on the topic with all the social partners. This request had a favorable outcome and was accepted. The department’s cabinet office informed us that on June 17th both the trade union organizations and the employers’ associations will be convened at two different times. At this meeting, decisions will be made known which will put an end to interpretations and positions taken. Also on May 31st, we were announced that the department will soon issue a statement for managing bodies to publish the selection notices and the related rankings on the websites of the education and training departments. We believe that both dialogue and discussion with the social partners are useful, hoping that serenity will be offered to workers, students and Sicilians. It is no longer conceivable that a strategic sector such as that of education and professional training, intended to train thousands of young Sicilians and which employs as many thousands of workers, is conditioned by the choice of a few”.
“We also learn – they continue – that part of the expenditure titles for the Iefp courses have already been issued in favor of managing bodies in compliance with the documentation such as: Centro Studi Aurora, Endofap, Infaop, Ted Formazione, Archè, Centro Studi e Ricerche, Logos , Esfo, Enaip en. While regarding notice 3 of the Gol Programme, the administration will issue the financing decrees in the next few days”.
“Today a fruitful comparison has been put in place in terms of merit and method – they conclude – a path that must continue in the immediate future. The objective of the trade union organizations has always been to finally have quality training in Sicily too, transparent starting from the staff recruitment procedures, which puts the student and the protections and rights of workers at the centre”.
