Pink quotas and filler list. Women are much more than a simple bureaucratic fulfillment, both in politics and in everyday life and professional life.

There is still too much hypocrisy and superficial respectability on this topic, especially here in the South. Words must be followed by concrete actions, as done by the Rotice Administration (in the Council as in the Council, with the youngest President in Italy), the pinkest ever in the history of Manfredonia, and certainly not for a mere algebraic calculation, which has based its work on the strength and ability of women.

Talking about women with women: we did it last night at the foot of the Castle, cultural and identity symbol of Manfredonia, in the presence of all the candidates (together with Libera Scirpoli – Coordinator of Strada Fare and Michaela Di Donna – Udc Puglia and Annarita Caracciolo – Corto e Cultura Film Festival) of the coalition that supports my candidacy for mayor.

“Women were born to change the state of things”, just like the Italian Republic whose 78th anniversary we celebrate today. Women like the Italian Republic: strong, courageous, capable of being the driving force of change.

I thank all the candidates who wanted to be at my side and put their face to it. Proud and grateful. A particular thought of mine goes to Lidia Poet (first female lawyer in Italy) and Annalisa Lisci (candidate for mayor of the Tremiti Islands, subject of a shameful sexist attack, to whom all my and our solidarity goes).
