Boom in attendance for Doctors on the streets, day dedicated to prevention and health education: over 530 accesses for free medical visits relating to various specialist areas. Great satisfaction from the organizers: Green Cross of Lucca, local Lions Club (Lucca Host, Lucca Le Mura, Antiche Valli Lucchesi) and Lions International, with the support of the Novelli pharmacy and Viva Sofia, the contribution of the Municipality of Lucca, as well as with the patronage of Cesvot and the Order of Doctors and Surgeons of the Province of Lucca.

Furthermore, once the event was over, Piazza Napoleone was the setting for a further event of the Green Cross of Lucca: the inauguration of 4 new vehicles, an ambulance and 3 Panda hybrids, which was attended by numerous volunteers and members of the association but also representatives of other local bodies and associations. The ambulance was named in memory of Leonella Pratesi, while one of the Panda hybrid in memory of Sandra Mazzoni, by virtue of their bequests to the association, who once again expresses profound gratitude for all the benefactresses and benefactors.

“It was a fantastic day, where we were able to provide an incredible number of free health services not only to those who had booked a visit, but also to people who showed up without registering – comments Daniele Massimo Borella, president of the Green Cross of Lucca – for this I must thank the specialists who worked with great professionalism throughout the day, our volunteers for their invaluable work and the organizations that collaborated with us to make this initiative possible. Together with the inauguration of the vehicles – concludes Borella – we can say that we celebrated Republic Day one day early, honoring article 32 of the Constitution, which states that ‘The Republic protects health as a fundamental right of the individual and interest of the community, and guarantees free care to the indigent”.
