USB Public Employment – Tax Agencies: Marche

Inspired by Beckett’s famous comedy, the motto of the Revenue Agency, even here in the Marche region, could now be this: Waiting for Godot!, that is: we are waiting for the new hires who, when they arrive, will solve all the problems!

As expected, in fact, every time workers raise critical issues about workloads, the only response that comes is that there are no employees (thank goodness they admit it!) and that (alas) we have to wait for the winners of the next competition . In other words: it’s all the fault of the missed hires that the Revenue Agency had to make and didn’t do or, as in the case of this last procedure, did so late (i.e., it’s their fault!).

Practically a puzzle: the workloads are high because there is a lack of staff that the Agency has not hired!

It’s a shame, however, that after the arrival of the new colleagues everything will go back to the way it was before: the workloads will remain high, the problems on the table will remain unresolved, and, to the rightful complaints of the employees, the management will respond… to wait for the winners of the next one competition.

Despite various requests from various quarters which called attention to the problems concerning, among other things, the malfunctions and therefore the slowdowns of IT procedures which impact on increasingly challenging objectives and also the subject of evaluation (see SIT: the system to irritate everyone”, see obsolete computers and printers, see snail-like and often non-functioning IT procedures), no organizational solution is proposed but only provided either an analysis based on numbers or the answer that, precisely… there is no staff! Sigh!

…in short, make do… or “shut up and be good”, paraphrasing the Maneskin this time!

The truth perhaps is that there are no solutions other than reviewing workloads and objectives, taking into account all the problems constantly highlighted by the staff.

The well-being of workers always takes a back seat when the compatibility of what has been decided by the Revenue Agency (times, results, etc.) is questioned…

So, Waiting for Godot!. We are waiting for an event, such as that of hiring, which gives the appearance of solving the problems, in reality this year between coaching and training the work will certainly not decrease, and will continue to arise in the future. The issue is not just that of staff shortages: we should not only wait for Godot but decisively tackle the problems at the root!

We reiterate that the main path for the staff is to become protagonists of a healthy “union conflict” to be built with the participation of workers with their critical contribution to try to reverse the trend which sees choices falling from above into positions of work.

In the meantime, we take this opportunity to wish “good luck” to the new hires!
