VIAREGGIO. A quick rescue, in the waters of the De Pinedo bathing area in Darsena, who receives compliments from a customer of the bathing establishment, with a report to Tyrrhenian for the professionalism of two lifeguards intervened, Piero Del Pistoia and Vincenzo Gallo. «They saved two men dragged by the current about 100 meters from the shore. In a few seconds they reached the swimmers and brought them to shore”, is the story of those who witnessed the intervention and decided to point it out with a nice “really congratulations” at the end of the message.
The sea – Del Pistoia and Gallo say – «was, as they say, falling. Few waves, after the storm, but lots and lots of current.” A sea that has created «two shallows, vertical with respect to the beach. Forcing the lifeguards to work hard to prevent swimmers from ending up in the middle of the current from the two shallows.
The two men who needed lifeguards entered the channel that was created and the current immediately took them out to sea.” Both in their 40s “they tried to get back on their own, but then they had to raise their hands towards us who were ready to intervene”, is the story of the lifeguards. The two put the lifeboat into the sea and reached the swimmers in difficulty. One of whom was literally paralyzed by the fear of not being able to get the better of the current. “They were really scared and we had to lift them up,” the story concludes.
