Cosenza celebrates 78 years of the Republic

Like every year, Republic Day is particularly popular and evocative and is celebrated everywhere. In Cosenza in Piazza 11 September, the Prefect of Cosenza, Dr Vittoria Ciaramella, after receiving honors from the deployed military representation, he read the message from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella to the Prefects of Italy.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of the diplomas of honor to the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Four honors were awarded for the occasion to Knight Vincenzo Arena; Knight Antonio Sica; Knight Eufemia Tarsia and to the Knight Onofrio Massarotti;

The Castrovillarese Massarotti, non-commissioned officer of the Carabinieri, is among the youngest to have obtained it. This important recognition was delivered during the ceremony by Prefect Vittoria Ciaramella. On this occasion, the reasons that led to the awarding of this important recognition were listed. Class of 81, non-commissioned officer of the Carabinieri currently serving at the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit of Cosenza, in the 21 years of service he has achieved the Civil Protection Merit awarded, the Silver Cross granted by the Ministry of Defence, the Ribbon of Merit for the commitment made during the Covid-19 emergency and a Simple Commendation from the Mobile and Specialized Unit Command of Rome. Massarotti has always stood out in the area for his constant social commitment which has recently seen him as the founder and currently Deputy Governor of the Confraternita di Misericordia of Castrovillari, as well as being an expert on the subject of Labor Law at the Unical of Cosenza.
