Republic Day in Palermo was celebrated in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The prefect of Palermo Massimo Marianithe mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla and the regional councilor Nunzia Albano they laid a commemorative wreath at the War Memorial.
The celebrations for the 78th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic took place in front of delegations from the army, state police, carabinieri, financial police, coast guard, firefighters and officers from the penitentiary and municipal police.
