The celebrations of the Republic Day in Caserta

This morning, at the “Monument to the Fallen” of the city of Caserta, the ceremony organized by the Prefecture of Caserta with the “Garibaldi” Brigade took place to celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the “Republic Day”.

Present were the civil, military and religious authorities, the Mayors and Commissioners of the municipalities of the province and a large representation of students from the “Giannone” high school of Caserta, with the usual tricolor “flag” lined up on Corso Trieste, from the “Manzoni” and ” Diaz”, of the “Mattei” Professional Institute and of the “Terra di Lavoro” Commercial Institute of Caserta, of the “Pizzi” Scientific High School of Capua, of the “Quercia” State High School of Marcianise and of the “Segre” State High School of San Cipriano of Aversa.

After the deployment of the Joint Forces Company of Honor – made up of units from the Army, Air Force, Carabinieri, State Police, Financial Police, Penitentiary Police, Fire Brigade, Red Cross and of the Civil Protection – of the Fanfare of the 8th Bersaglieri Regiment and of the Combatant and Armed Associations, the flag raising took place to the tune of the Italian Anthem with the deposition of two laurel wreaths in memory of the fallen by of the Prefect and the Mayor of Caserta.

Subsequently, Prefect Castaldo, after having read the message of the President of the Republic, proceeded to award the gold medal to the Chief Sergeant Major of the Italian Army Luca Patrizio, recognized as a “victim of terrorism” for an attack suffered in Nassiriya, and the honors for the “Merit of the Italian Republic” conferred by the President of the Republic to citizens of the province of Caserta, accompanied by the provincial leaders of the military corps to which they belong and by the Mayors.

Particularly moving was the intervention of the young people Maria Zagaria, Giovanni Scialdone and Emanuela Tessitore, awarded by the Head of State as “Standards of the Republic” for having distinguished themselves thanks to their activity in favor of the world of culture, of the school community and in the rescue of human lives, who told the public about their experiences, bringing to their peers a message of civil commitment and solidarity towards others.

The ceremony continued in Piazza Vanvitelli, where the orchestra and choir of the “Domenico Cirillo” classical and musical high school of Aversa performed, performing some songs in the presence of the authorities and citizens.

Prefect Castaldo, in thanking the authorities and citizens present, expressed great appreciation to the Standard Bearers of the Republic and to all the young people present, who constitute the hope for the future of our country, inviting them to follow “positive models” inspired by the founding values ​​of the Constitution , which we celebrate on Republic Day.
