«Far West night in Cagliari, a resolution on safety immediately»

Neighborhood watch, fixed local police stations in the main squares and reopening of local stations starting from that of Pirri, agreements with private associations for the protection of the territory and strengthening of public lighting: these are the pillars of the resolution that the mayoral candidate of Cagliari, Giuseppe Farris, announces that he intends to approve in the event of election.

«We have published the draft months ago on our list’s website, CiviCa24», he explains after defining the one he just spent in Cagliari as «a Wild West night».

«A former policeman was stabbed to death by a nineteen-year-old in a pub. To steal a chain from him, of little value, a passerby was beaten bloody in the Marina district. Two boys on scooters, drunk, after a crazy chase by the police in the city centre, were found in possession of counterfeit money and clubs”, lists Farris.

Until December 2023, he analyses, «the then mayor Truzzu maintained that Cagliari is a safe city and that the insecurity is only perceived. In the listening campaign that we conducted among 10,063 Cagliaritans”, underlines the civic candidate, “95.1% of those interviewed asked for greater security, both in the center and on the outskirts. Thats enough”.
