The parish community “Holy Apostles Peter and Paul” Of Castiglione di Sicilia, is pleased to announce the V Edition of the Corpus Domini Flower Festival, which will be held on 1 and 2 June 2024.

This event, which has now become a tradition loved by residents and tourists, will involve a 30 meter long route within the suggestive Basilica of the Madonna della Catena. The creation of the Infiorata, led by Ramona Camuglia and supported by parish volunteers, will transform the basilica into a work of art thanks to the use of numerous flowers carefully collected in the Alcantara Valley and on the slopes of Etna. These will give life to magnificent designs that celebrate the faith and natural beauty of Castiglione di Sicilia.

Over the years, the Infiorata has seen growing appreciation from visitors, consolidating itself as an unmissable event for the local community and for the tourists who flock to the village.

The official inauguration it will happen on Saturday 1st of Junewith the presentation and blessing of the Infiorata by the parish priest Don Orazio Greco at 7.00 pm.

The culmination of the celebrations will be on Sunday June 2with the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration evening at 7.00 pm, followed by Eucharistic Procession which will cross the streets of the town. Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the treasures of the Diffused Religious Museum of the Parish. Among the attractions not to be missed are the ancient Bell tower Norman of the Church of San Pietro and the Crypt of San Leonardo in the former Church of San Giuseppe.

These visits will allow participants to immerse themselves in the history of the ancient village of Castiglione di Sicilia and admire its landscape and architectural beauties.
