Several citizens, having collected the separate waste collection kits, complained because it is no longer possible to obtain paper bags for wet waste.
In the first days of distribution, until at least the beginning of the week, citizens were given the opportunity to choose: collect the bags for the organic fraction in paper, or choose the biodegradable bags in mater-bi. Recently, however, only biodegradable bags have been delivered. Some citizens protested because they consider paper bags better, more resistant and less likely to break in the bins under the weight of waste. Several people from Como say they use two biodegradable bags every time to avoid having to collect rubbish.
From Aprica they explain that, given the new contract started in July, the paper bags distributed until last year are no longer foreseen, from now on only the Mater-Bi bag is in use. In the first days of distribution, however, as mentioned, Aprica delivered the inherited paper bags to citizens until they ran out in agreement with the Municipality.
Please remember that to throw away organic waste you can also use other compostable bags, such as those used in supermarkets to buy fruit and vegetables.
For the moment, around 11 thousand families from Como have collected the kit at the center in via Somigliana, out of a total of over 40 thousand users. However, you still have until June 29th.
The service is active without a break from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 4pm, access is always free, there is no need for reservations or calls according to neighborhoods of residence or surnames. It is possible to delegate relatives and acquaintances by bringing the Ecopass card. As always, Aprica operators deliver fifty transparent bags for unsorted waste, one hundred yellow ones for plastic and the same number for organic waste.
