the centre-left flash mob in support of Elena Carnevali

Candidates of the centre-left coalition, outgoing councillors, supporters and sympathizers of Elena Carnevali they arrive en masse in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Bergamo around midday. They are all dressed in white, wearing t-shirts with the slogan «You’ll see that Bergamo!» to give a boost to the mayoral candidate one week before the election weekend. The polls will remain open on 8 and 9 June and the message they send during the flash mob, even to the undecided, is unequivocal: «Vote Elena». They also compose it on the ground, lining up in formation on the cobblestones in front of the Tower of the Fallen.

Despite the polls, promoted by the respective electoral committees, speaking of a head-to-head between Elena Carnevali and Andrea Pezzotta, there is enthusiasm in the centre-left coalition: “Don’t stop the city, vote Elena”, they chant loudly from the square, while behind them tourists and customers stroll among the stalls of the slow food market. «In Bergamo we have to look ahead. Thank you all for being here. Come on and move forward!», Carnevali relaunches, before the large snake of candidates parades along via XX Settembre and via Sant’Orsola, heading to the headquarters of Elena Carnevali’s electoral committee.
