Swimming, the first “Openwater Foam” fails in Marina di Modica

Scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 2 June, the first stage of the Sicilian cross-country circuit, the Openwater foam. In Marina Di Modica, more precisely from the area in front of the “Schiuma Craft Beer Village”, the start and finish of the 5 km, the “classic” race scheduled for the morning. The route is a 2.5 km triangular circuit to be repeated twice with 3 mandatory buoys. In the afternoon, the event organized by TriRock Asd includes the “sprint” race over the mile distance, the start will be at 3pm.
The organizers are monitoring the water temperature, which fluctuates around 20°, and advise everyone, both competitors and masters, to bring a wetsuit as it is not yet certain that it can be used optionally. For masters, the buoy is mandatory in both races.
In the startlist there are 63 athletes, no A rookies with many Sicilian clubs represented: Mimmo Ferrito, La Fenice, Unime, Sport Club Erea, Sicilia Nuoto, Athon, Water Sun, Sun Club. To which are added a Sardinian athlete from All Together Coop Soc and one from Silver Sport. The Masters list has larger numbers with 72 members and more companies, both Sicilian and from all over Italy, represented. This is the official list of starters.
