Venice crowded with tourists, but “only” 15 thousand euro ‘ticket’

Seventeenth day of the entrance fee to Venice today, Sunday. The stands recorded 15,228 paying people, slightly down on yesterday.
But, as we understand, the number is not directly proportional to the tourist presences in the city. Today, in fact, real crowds happily occupied the streets and fields, not to mention the means of transport: when taking the vaporettos there were often moments of nervousness due to the excessive influx.

The Access Fee controllers checked a total of 14,837 QR-codes, without detecting any particular critical issues. The contribution will resume on June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30; 6, 7, 13 and 14 July 2024, always with the same times 8.30am-4.00pm.

The codes issued today for exemptions for guests in accommodation facilities are just over 49,000 (they are not required to pay because they already pay the tourist tax). It should be considered that this data overlaps different categories: arrivals, accommodation and departures.

Exempt because they reside in Veneto or in the metropolitan city: 8,488. Confirmed in the overall numbers, as they are often permanent conditions and therefore have a voucher until 14 July, are students (17,329), workers (23,201), property owners who pay the IMU or holders of rental contracts who have not moved their residence in the ancient city (7,636), as well as for relatives (2,787).

Requests for exemption “for other reasons” at 1,540 and school trips at 570.
