Thus ends the Italian adventure in Lanciano and Bormio Volleyball Treviso And Valentino Ricci Imocoengaged in the fU17 and U16 national teams. After coming close to the podium in the U19 finals, the Volley Treviso triumphed in the U17, becoming Italian Champion. The team coached by Johnny Cappelletto won the tricolor by beating the Volleyball Parella Turin 3-0, thus securing the fourth Italian title in this category after three finals in which the team had finished second. For the orogranate society it is also the 39th title at national level in the youth sector, where he triumphed 26 times in the federal championships and 13 times in the Junior League and Boy League. Individual awards to three house jewels: Alessandro Benacchio (best center back), Simone Porro (best setter) and Francesco Crosato (Mvp). Coach Cappelletto was right in saying that his team respected everyone but he feared no one. After a negative debut, with a defeat against Bologna (the only one in the whole season), the orogranata made up for it by winning all the other matches of these finals against: Piacenza, Lube Macerata, Vero Volley, Powervolley Milano, until reaching the final. «Winning is always a great emotion – comments coach Cappelletto – Even if the final was not our best match, the important thing in these cases is knowing how to manage the emotion and this group succeeded. They are talented guys, who have managed to express themselves at their best also because they form a good, very united group, with positive leaders. Some of them won the U15 championship last year, others lost the U17 final in 2023. This was my fourth final in a row in this category and the victory finally came. With a group like this, which started as favourites, and which has great talents, as a coach I would never have forgiven myself if I hadn’t been able to make the most of these guys. I’m happy for them and for the company. There is a lot of work behind it and in moments like these the visibility that comes from these results is also very important.”
THE PROTAGONISTS
The protagonists of the team took to the field recent promotion to Serie B. Young people full of talent, some already have an agent following them. Someone seems to have already signed as a starter in A2 next season. I am: Simone Porro, Mattia Furlan, Alessandro Benacchio, Bryan Argilagos, Francesco Crosato, Francesco Biondo, Andrea Bubacco, Matteo Monzani, Valerio Brancaleoni, Alessandro Moro, Umberto Moro, Leonardo Sartori, Massimo Barosco, Antonio Costantini. Four of these guys are regulars in the Cadet National Team. From Simone Porro (brother of Paolo and Luca, Super League players in Milan and Padua) who in 2023 was awarded as best setter and Mpv of the European category, to Bryan Argilagos, who with Porro is also the Italian U20 beach volleyball champion, to Alessandro Benacchio, Francesco Crosato and occasionally as second libero Francesco Biondo. Also attending the finals were federal technicians Monica Cresta, Luca Leoni and Stefano Recine.
VICE CHAMPION
Silver instead for the Valentino Ricci Imoco team who celebrated the U18 title last Sunday. The team of Elisa Sperandio had made a clear path in these tricolors by beating the Volley Piedmont, Wekondor Catania, Volley World Naples, Spazio Conad Busnago Monza and Volley Friends Rome to surrender only in the final against the True Volley Monza. The vice champions of Italy are: Alessia Manda, Nancy Adigwe, Ottavia Baldi, Gaia Bozza, Gioia Cattelan, Sofia Martinengo, Guia Moiran, Giorgia Orso, Sophia Perin, Alice Pugiotto, Giorgia Serafin, Ludovica Tosini, Virgilia Vian, Lavinia Zorzetto. Ludovica Tosini was awarded the Best Striker Award of the Finals.
