Press review – Overwhelmed and killed by a pirate, the children: “Justice for our father”. The prosecutor requests the indictment of the young African who caused the death of Quarto Grassi, the elderly man who was hit near the church of San Nicolò: he risks a five-year sentence

That day (it was August 19th a year ago) they found him dying in the street, near the church of San Nicolò. Quarto Grassi was rushed to the “Bufalini” hospital, where he died 5 days later. Initially it was thought that the 78-year-old had been struck by an illness while pedaling his electric bike, but then thanks to the investigation conducted by the Local Police it was discovered that the elderly man had been hit by a car. The man behind the wheel, after hitting him, fled without giving him help. And now the prosecutor Luca Bertuzi has asked for the young man to be sent to trial, accused of vehicular homicide with the aggravating circumstance of failure to render aid. The preliminary hearing will be held on September 26th before judge Raffaele Deflorio. And Grassi’s children, assisted by the lawyer Marco De Pascale, hope that “justice will be done for our father”.
