A bit of Turin at the Cannes Film Festival – The winner of the Grand Prix comes from the Torino Film Lab: “A great success”

It is the winning film of the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival and was supported by the TorinoFilmLab, organized by the National Cinema Museum.

The winning work is “All we imagine as light” by Payal Kapadia, the first Indian film in competition at Cannes for 30 years, and one of four titles directed by female directors in this category.

The TorinoFilmLab has contributed to the creation of almost 200 works, supporting the development of the script and distribution.

“All we imagine as light” obtained the TFL Audience Design Fund of 45 thousand euros. This is the second film by Payal Kapadia, who made her Cannes debut in 2021 with “Night of Knowing Nothing,” winner of the Golden Eye award for best documentary at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes.

Finally, the Oeil d’Or award for the best documentary went to The Brink of Dreams, directed by director Nada Riyadh and director Ayman El Amir and financially supported by TorinoFilmLab with the Tfl Audience Design Fund 2024 distribution fund (45 thousand euros ).
