“Pentathlon. What a fool. Everyone at the door”

“High grass and dirt, a very bad impression for Pesaro”. This is what Marcello Valdinocci, candidate for municipal councilor of Fratelli, reports about the swimming pool in via Togliatti which, yesterday, hosted the Italian Open under 15 modern pentathlon championship. Added to the general neglect was the impossibility for the public, coming from various Italian regions, to access the structure. “As if that wasn’t enough – councilor Valdinocci points out – the families of the participating children who came from all over Italy had to watch the races from outside, because the stands, according to the many accompanying people, would be unusable for the public”. And again: “This is the message sent to me by a friend who had a relative from Rome come to Pesaro for the championship: ‘I am at a modern pentathlon sporting event of a national nature. At the swimming pool of Villa San Martino with the presence of at least 100 people (parents and friends) who come from outside, forced to watch from the external window with a lawn of tall grass, because the public cannot enter, it seems that the stands are unusable, I was really ashamed.” The exponent of Fratelli d’Italia continues: “This is the image that the Pesaro municipal administration shows to those who come to the city, I think the time has come to make a ‘Turn’. Pesaro and its citizens do not deserve to make a bad impression”, especially in the much publicized summer of Pesaro Capital of Culture, with the city which should present itself looked after in every part.
