MESSINA – Fifth edition of “Messina Vinyl Fest”, the event dedicated to the world of records, scheduled at Sunset in Mortelle on Sunday 26 May from 10.00 to 20.00. Entrance is free, with the possibility of making an optional contribution to the cultural association “Vinyl Fest” (starting from €2) or purchasing a canvas bag with an illustration by the artistNessunutuno.
The initiative, promoted by the newly formed cultural association Vinyl Fest, sees among its organizers Francesco Bonaccorso who presents the day thus: “I am proud of the growth of these years and we have built a good team that has been working for months for the success of the event . The best thing is bringing together many realities of our territory in a great celebration of music, vinyl and the sea. We invite you to come and visit us not too late to fully enjoy a day of relaxation and joy. It will be possible to have lunch and there will also be a play area for children.”
Vinyl Fest 2024 will be set up in an even larger space than previous editions: the record market will be hosted on the Sunset terrace and there will be 10 exhibitors, including Simply Dischi” from Catanzaro, established city realities such as “Best Price Rec. ”, “il Musichiere”, “Quattro Dischi del Ponta”, “Rapstore” from Catania which is dedicated only to Rap and Hip hop and many others. Also present is “Tuma Records”, a young record label from Messina, which will offer the corner dedicated to the discography of the local scene, where it will be possible to purchase records by bands such as Basiliscus P, LSDN, The Trip Takers, Whistling heads, The Jester, Dario Naccari.
On the lower floor there is a market curated by Lucia Vento’s Opuntia Sicily Concept Store, which will bring together a selection of Sicilian craft and vintage exhibitors from all over the region and an exhibition of artistic ceramics curated by Freaklab, an artistic laboratory ceramic.
Numerous DJ sets are on the program – played strictly on vinyl – with guests from all over Italy and with the partnership of 180gr.tv. Among the many DJs who will take turns, Sara Mautone, Elvis Delmar and the Mexicans Morgan, Kollasso and Bluemarina will perform.

The Cineteca dello Stretto will organize an initiative with an exhibition of instruments such as cameras, projectors and films from the early 1900s and a collection campaign dedicated to sharing rare and precious audiovisual materials that speak of our territory where everyone will be able to contribute by bringing their own films and films amateur, to finally see them again digitized and ready for viewing.
There is also space for charity, with the presence of non-profit associations that work in favor of the territory: Puli – Amo Messina which, during the day, will promote a “waste hunt”, Addiopizzo and Ecosfera diving.
