The Sassari writer Mangione and the play on words in his book

The book by Vincenzo Mangione.

As part of the review “May of books” organized by the “Ma…donne” association, the book “I write as I eat” by Vincenzo Mangione. The book is a sort of logbook of a journey through three decades of thoughts, sensations and reflections, collected in four distinct containers that reflect the different publications that have hosted the author’s words over the years.

In the first section, entitled “Appetizers“, the author draws from his writings present in his blog “entelechy”, offering a taste of his most interior reflections by exploring themes that reflect his philosophical vision and personal about the world. The second section, called “First courses”, collects articles published in the diocesan weekly “Libertà”. Here the author mainly addresses topics related to faith and spirituality. The third container, “Second courses“, contains contributions originally published on the “pAintus” blog focusing on creative communication and exploring the world of art, culture and innovation. The fourth section “Coffee and digestives” includes articles published in the weekly magazine “Il Caffè”, addressing current affairs, literature and culture, with a critical and reflective gaze.
Finally, the author enriches the collection with fourteen short stories which constitute the last container called “homemade desserts”. These stories offer further perspective on his experience and narrative, with a touch of creativity and imagination.

The title “I write how I eat” is a pun that reflects the author’s irrepressible passion for writing by ironically linking it to his surname. And so the book’s chapters are named consistently with the title structured like a restaurant menu inviting the reader to enjoy his words with the same curiosity and pleasure with which one enjoys a good meal by adding an element of originality and familiarity to the structure of the collection.

Each item, as the subtitle suggests, hides a part of the author that is revealed only to those who are willing to read between the lines, going beyond the margins of the text. In the volume “I write as I eat” presented to the public, we find a selection of his thoughts and reflectionscaptured over three decades.
