COSENZA – We have received and published the appeal that arrived in the editorial office from 16 doctors from the 118 of Cosenza who have not yet been stabilized, despite being winners of the competition, compared to all the other provinces of Calabria.
The person writing to us is Pasquale Barca, a doctor from 118 in Cosenza who has been carrying out work under an agreement for 8 years now and who wants to bring to attention “an issue that has gone unnoticed in the Calabrian public health panorama. Given that I speak on behalf of everyone and 16 colleagues from Cosenza and the province who won the competition, banned by the Calabria region and completed between November 2023 and January 2024, concerning the 145 positions of Emergency Doctor; Well, I wanted to point out to your editorial staff that we 16 representatives of the 118 of the Bruzia province, unlike our colleagues from the other 4 Calabrian provinces, we are the ONLY ones who have not yet been stabilized by the relevant ASP (that of Cosenza), despite the fact that on 28 January 2024, at the Lamezia hospital and in the presence of Commissioner Battistini and the senior officials of the Health Protection Department of the Calabria region, we signed a pre-agreement for the choice of the ASP where to carry out our duties as Doctors of the ‘Emergency-Urgency (i.e. 118 doctors, emergency room, ppi-first aid points). In reality, unlike what is written in the media where it is claimed that our position has been stabilized, things are different, since we are still under the agreement regime (therefore without the protection of the transition to addiction). All this little theater has been going on for 4 months now, in the indifference of the city ASP leaders (who even deny us a meeting)”.
