Catania, dismissal for a 25-year-old perpetrator of car thefts: away from the city for 4 years

The Police Commissioner of Catania Giuseppe Bellassai has issued the measure to prevent the mandatory expulsion order against a young twenty-five year old accused of theft and receiving stolen goods.

In particular, the agents of the Flying Squad learned that unknown persons, after breaking the windows of some cars parked along some streets of the historic city centre, stole various objects kept inside such as satellite navigators, work tools, sunglasses and other.

Investigations began immediately, also through the viewing of images recorded by video surveillance systems present in the area, the police managed to identify a young man believed to be responsible for the thefts. The young man was found still in possession of some objects stolen from the cars and recognized by the owners, to whom they were returned. The young man was reported for theft and receiving stolen goods.

The man, not being a resident in the province of Catania and not having provided suitable reasons justifying his presence in Catania, was notified of the mandatory expulsion order prevention measure. With this provision, the Police Commissioner ordered the man to immediately go to his municipality of residence and not to return to the city of Catania without authorization for a period of four years.
