Viterbo – Turkish mafia, the first round of interrogations began yesterday. Giorgio Meschini from Viterbo availed himself of the right not to answer.

The 31-year-old, the only Italian among those arrested, defended by the lawyer Remigio Sicilia, appeared in the afternoon, via video link from the Mammagialla prison, before the investigating judge Savina Poli and the public prosecutor Michele Adragna for the validation hearing which was held behind closed doors in the assize court room of the Viterbo courthouse.

As mentioned, the 31-year-old, driver-interpreter-handyman of the association, who would have used his mother’s car for “errands” throughout the national territory, chose not to answer the questions of the judge for the preliminary investigations, who as for the others remained reserved about his position. The deputy Adragna requested confirmation of the precautionary custody measure granted by the Milan investigating judge to the Milanese prosecutor’s office.

Before Meschini it was the turn of the two Turks housed in a community in Montefiascone, who instead answered the questions in the presence of an interpreter.

In Milan the leaders of the organization, while two other Turks, stopped on the coast on the day of the blitz, Wednesday 22 May, whose names do not appear among the 18 reached by the order of the Milanese investigating judge Roberto Crepaldi, appeared before the investigating judge Giuseppe Coniglio of the Civitavecchia court, assisted by the lawyer Angelo Di Silvio.

Among the “Viterbo” Turks, Bayram Demir. In particular, a photo of the 32-year-old resident of Nepi is circulating in which he is portrayed with Boyun.

Demir, who is in a wheelchair due to a shooting accident, would consider the boss partly responsible for what happened to him, despite continuing to work for him. “A person of certain prominence in the criminal group – we read about him in the order – is even pointed out as a possible leader of a faction opposed to Boyun and with important positions in the criminal group, whose terrorist objectives he evidently shares”.

He is precisely among those who expressed loyalty to Boyun and his terrorist objectives, “apertis verbis or in any case protecting his life”, in the awareness of the criminal caliber of the boss and of the fact that he had terrorist objectives.

He was among those “in charge” of transferring and replacing large quantities of money in Italy deriving from illicit activities, in particular from drug trafficking, extortion and weapons.

Speaking of weapons, last March 28 he was arrested on the A24 in L’Aquila on charges of trafficking in weapons of war, following the discovery inside the Mercedes Pickup with a Swiss license plate in which he was traveling with two other compatriots , hidden in the back of the glove compartment, behind a bracket welded by hand to create a double bottom, or two semi-automatic pistols complete with magazines, for a total of 27 9X19 Luger caliber cartridges.

In addition to the guns, a bottle of paralyzing stinging spray and a black “under-shirt” type bulletproof vest, made of Kevlar, divided into two parts respectively for the protection of the front and rear parts of the body, were also seized. It was Demir’s, among his “personal baggage”. .
