Extraordinary Territorial Controls in Assisi: Reinforced Security

Extraordinary Territorial Controls in Assisi: Reinforced Security against Predatory Crimes and Home Burglaries

In Assisi, the extraordinary controls of the territory promoted by the Perugia Police Headquarters continue throughout the province, with the aim of guaranteeing a safer environment and preventing predatory crimes, thefts and robberies.

The checks were mainly concentrated in Assisi and Santa Maria degli Angeli, places frequented by numerous tourists, and in the Bastia Umbra area. The police cars of the Assisi police station, supported by the crews of the Umbria Marche Crime Prevention Department, patrolled the main access roads to the cities, the squares of the churches and basilicas and the most populous areas of the hinterland to discourage criminal activity.

During the checks, public establishments were also examined, with 6 premises subjected to checks to identify any individuals with criminal records and to verify compliance with the rules established by the TULPS.

To combat home thefts and identify any people involved in illicit activities, checkpoints have been set up and numerous patrols have been carried out in residential areas. These actions allowed traffic to be verified and people with specific backgrounds or suspicious behavior to be subjected to more in-depth checks.

During prevention operations in the cities, 87 people were identified and 33 vehicles checked, thus strengthening the presence of law enforcement in the area and increasing the sense of security of the local community.
