On May 28th in Ravenna, at the Almagià, an event open to all citizens will be held at 6 pm, without political symbols to talk about peace.
Among the speakers involved will be Moni Ovadia, Professor Alessandro Orsini and Francesca Albanese, UN special envoy for Palestine. The meeting is moderated by the MEP Sabrina Pignedoli entitled “Together for peace”.
“The European Union, very fragile in its foreign policy, has taken the path of militarization as a substitute for the diplomatic authority that it is unable to build.
In the European context, too often the war in Ukraine and the attack on Palestine are taken into consideration only starting from the last chapter, the path of decades of tensions and disregarded international agreements that have led to the current situation is not analysed. In this meeting we want to delve deeper into the context of these conflicts, beyond mainstream information which, by flattening and simplifying reality, wants to pass off war as the only possible solution to achieving peace.
The diplomatic path and respect for international agreements must be the response to conflicts. The European Union was born for peace”. Thus in a note Sabrina Pignedoli, MEP of the 5 Star Movement.
