Pregnant women and families allowed. Councilor Altamura: “Here’s how to take advantage of it”

Note from City Councilor Onofrio Altamura, shared and supported by colleagues Domenico Damascelli, Francesco Toscano, Carmela Rossiello, Ivan Lorusso (Fdi), Arcangelo Putignano.

In Bitonto, we all decided together to create parking spaces reserved for pregnant women and families with children up to two years of age, a measure aimed at facilitating mobility and supporting the needs of these categories, as required by the Highway Code.
However, despite the usefulness of this service, many citizens are still unaware of its availability and how to access it. It is necessary to inform the population of this possibility and how to use it. Here’s how to request authorization to use these reserved parking spaces.
The request for expectant women, accompanied by a medical certificate certifying the state of pregnancy, or the request of one of the two parents in the case of a child aged no more than two years, must be presented directly to the Local Police Headquarters or via PEC to the address [email protected].
The use of the pink permit by a pregnant woman is strictly personal. While the permit for children, up to the age of two, can be used either by one of the two parents. In both cases, the benefit is reserved exclusively for citizens residing in the municipal area and is not linked to a specific vehicle, but to any vehicle “at the service” of the pregnant woman or child under the age of two, provided that accompanied by one of the parents. To be able to park in the pink spaces, you must display the identification mark of the “pink permit”, which must be clearly visible.
