“In our region, and on average also in our city, a third of the over 64s have problems with autonomy in daily instrumental activities and require assistance, including at home. Our proposal is to activate a special administration – Local Health Authority project to activate nurse services of family and community also in the municipal area of Forlì”. “The updated old age index for the municipality of Forlì says that there are 209.0 elderly people for every 100 young people – they illustrate -. With more than 2 elderly people over 64 for every inhabitant in the age group from 0 to 14 years. Therefore, it is increasingly urgent to organize healthcare at a territorial and neighborhood level to meet the needs of an increasingly aging population with the medical and healthcare problems that this age group entails. Ausl Romagna, in Rimini for example, has already tested social and health services that are closer to the people. Through specific territorial hubs with neighborhood clinics, to bring a series of social and healthcare professionals closer to citizens, implementing social and healthcare activities even at home, thanks to ad hoc figures such as neighborhood nurses, neighborhood psychologists, assistants neighborhood social networks. It is a project that we would like to implement in Forlì as soon as possible, at least during the next administrative mandate”.
“The statistics suggest that we should be able to cover the entire population in a widespread manner, with an ideal ratio to be achieved of one nurse for every three thousand inhabitants – continue the two independent candidates on the Lega list, and to achieve the objective we could also imagine involving associations of voluntary nurses , so as to implement, strengthen and extend home-based socio-healthcare activities. General practitioners who collaborate with district home care nurses or who have freelance nurses in their practices know well the value of their contribution. As well as citizens who receive home care or palliative care.”
“Finally, we would like to remind you that the National Agency for Regional Health Services has published a specific document which contains the guidelines for the role of the family or community nurse which originates from the interventions envisaged by the Pnrr (the National Recovery Plan and Resilience) in the chapter concerning the reform of the new organizational model of the local healthcare network. Therefore, we could also draw on European Commission funds to support our idea and put it into practice. It’s about understanding its importance and starting the project. There is no time to waste”: Rossi and Lasaponara conclude.
