Talentcenter Bolzano, over 2,000 young people have already joined it

The Talentcenter in Piazza Verdi in Bolzano was created with the aim of supporting lower secondary school students in their professional orientation. This is done through scientifically proven standardized tests. In the first months after the official opening in November 2023, middle schools showed a lot of interest. Since its opening, which took place six months ago, over 2,000 young people from 50 middle schools (lower secondary schools) have already taken advantage of the free offer of the Talentcenter Bolzano. The booking situation for the 2023/24 school year shows high demand. Of 129 available appointments, only six went untapped until the end of the school year in June.
In the Talentcenter, students follow a path and complete various tasks. This allows them to explore their interests, skills and talents in different areas. The results are then reworked into an individual Talentreport, which describes them clearly and presents proposals for professions that correspond to the talents and personal interests of young people.
The Talentreport represents an aid for a targeted training and professional choice oriented towards individual inclinations. The results can in turn be explored in greater depth in a personal interview with the Educational and Professional Guidance Office of the Province of Bolzano. More than 1,600 Talentreports have been downloaded so far, which corresponds to a download rate of 81 percent.
In these first months of activity, the Talentcenter team has been able to acquire valuable experience. The feedback from young people and their parents on the visit to the Talentcenter and the Talentreport was mostly positive. The young people, who participated with interest and patience in the four hours of testing, received proposals for professions that correspond to their strengths and which will certainly be useful for their future. Some evidence indicates that the results were sometimes unexpected.
“We would like to thank all the partners who support us in the creation and management of the Bolzano Talentcenter. The positive feedback from students shows that we are on the right path,” says Michl Ebner, President of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce.
Appointments for the 2024/25 school year are already online and can be booked by teachers at the link www.talentcenter.bz.it. Participation in the Talentcenter activities is only possible as a class or group of students.
