Cus Molise 5-a-side football beats Cus Torino and flies to the semi-finals. Antonio Di Stefano’s team is certain of a medal and this afternoon (starting at 6pm live streaming on the Cnu 2024 YouTube channel) faces Cus Bari to seek a place in the final. Appetite comes with eating, but what has been done is already something extraordinary. In the match against the Piedmontese, the boys of our University offered another strong performance. Heart, head, legs and character led to a great result. Cus Molise was able to strike at the right moments and suffer when the match required it. Cus Torino, in fact, particularly in the second half, tried to get back into the game with the goalkeeper on the move (without completely succeeding – ed.) and that’s when the hosts gritted their teeth and clung to the saves of a super Aldo Polisena, they brought home a very heavy victory.

The news – The home team’s approach to the match is worthy of applause. Quick exchange between De Nisco and Di Nunzio with the latter putting the ball in the corner making Palaunimol explode with joy. Cus Torino tries to react immediately: Corrieri raises his aim too much after a save by Polisena. Molise is still dangerous with Di Nunzio, a weak, central shot that doesn’t cause problems. Cus Molise doubled their lead with their captain De Nisco able to take advantage of a short clearance from Merlo. The Molisans are not satisfied and drop the trio: Pazienza who turns and shoots, sending the ball to the corner. Cus Molise 3 Cus Torino 0. The Piedmontese are not willing to lower the white flag too soon and Mirisola restores hope to his team by closing a restart as best as possible. Cus Molise’s response is sudden. De Nisco increases the pressure and Di Nunzio just has to push the ball to the bottom of the bag to make it 4-1. At this point Cus Torino opts for the 5-a-side game and Beltrando makes it 4-2 but the power play is a curse and a blessing for Cus Torino because precisely with the 5-a-side game Cus Molise finds the very poker with Sabia, good from his half field to make the 5-2 with which the first half ends.

In the second half, Cus Torino immediately opted for the power play in an attempt to get back into the game. The first shot on target, however, is for the locals with Pazienza, the ball hits the post. The same fate befell Tedesco shortly afterwards. Schiavone hits the mark for the Turin team. Cus Molise is good at keeping calm in this situation. Sabia comes close to scoring the sixth goal and then Polisena responds like a champion to Tedesco’s lash. The opportunity for Cus Molise also comes at the feet of Ferrara who narrowly misses the target. At the sound of the siren it’s a big celebration for the hosts who continue to dream. The imminent future may hold further satisfactions but the story has already been written.
