Genoa – A Falcon 900 transported a two-year-old girl in imminent danger of life from Cagliari to Genoa. This is the second emergency flight within a few hours for Air Force aircraft.

The air rescue carried out by a Falcon 50 aircraft in favor of a newborn baby just six days old, a second intervention by the crews of the 31st Wing of Ciampino was necessary to transport the little girl. This time, a Falcon 900 aircraft took off promptly from the Roman military base.

The little girl, hospitalized at the “G. Brotzu” hospital in Cagliari, was transported to Genoa airport together with her mother and a medical team. From here he then reached the Institute by ambulance Giannina Gaslini. The transport ended around 4.30pm today.

Also in this case it was the Prefecture of Cagliari that contacted the Top Situation Room of the Air Force Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of activating and managing urgent medical transports, giving the take-off order to the aircraft that the Armed Forces keep in a state of readiness at various bases in Italy. The 31st Wing of Ciampino is in fact only one of the flight departments that the Armed Forces ensures for the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with aircraft and crews ready to take off in a short time for this type of missions.

Air Force crews and transport aircraft are operational every single day of the year to ensure, where requested and deemed necessary for urgent reasons, the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life, organs or medical teams or, as in this case, of people in need of transfer to specialized treatment centers on the national territory. Every year, hundreds of flight hours are carried out for this type of intervention, in support of citizens, by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare and the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa. Where there are specific operational needs, the Air Force also employs the helicopters of the 15th Wing of Cervia.
