ìThe first advance payment for the reconstruction of the “Marconi” Scientific and Artistic High School in Foligno has been transferred. This is 1.7 million euros, out of the almost 8.8 million total needed for the intervention and which had recently been increased by the Earthquake Coordination Cabin.
“We are proceeding very quickly in the procedures for the reconstruction of the schools damaged by the central Apennines earthquake – declares the 2016 Earthquake Commissioner’s Structure -. Thanks to the Umbria Region, the Special Reconstruction Office and the Province which is the implementing body of the intervention, for their great collaboration in our common goal: to return safe, beautiful and functional structures to students and staff”.
The 20% deposit was approved by the 2016 earthquake commissioner structure and the resources were transferred to the Special Reconstruction Office of Umbria. An essential step to start the design activities and the first phases of the works. In Umbria there are a total of 96 schools to be rebuilt as part of Special Ordinance 31, dedicated to the repair of school buildings damaged by the earthquake, and interventions worth 357 million euros are expected.
