“Dalle mie parti” is the title of the show, written and directed by Stefano Trizzino, which will be staged on Saturday 25 May, at 9pm, and Sunday 26 May, at 6pm, at the Teatro della Posta Vecchia in Agrigento. Stefano Trizzino will be accompanied on the piano by maestro Salvatore Galante. We asked the director:

Your long-awaited show at the Posta Vecchia, are you excited?

“Yes a lot! It is no coincidence that I wanted to make my debut at the Teatro della Posta Vecchia, I had my very first audition ever more than 20 years ago in this theatre, and thanks to my colleague friend Giovanni Moscato for having wanted me to close the season of reviews and greet the public with my show!”

How was “Dalle mia” born?

“Where I come from, it comes from the desire to put myself out there, to be on stage mainly with no one around or almost no one around, to accompany me in this adventure, at the piano there will be maestro Salvatore Galante, a long-time friend and colleague. I was saying, this show, recital, call it what you want, was born from all the experience that I carry within me, both professionally but above all regarding the personal sphere”.

What you tell?

“I want to tell about myself and a Sicily seen by those who were not born on the island, but came, created and then, by force of circumstances, did not stay, on the contrary, they escaped like I did, but who, being a Sicilian to the core, punctually returns to us with great joy because I miss him like air and because my affections are still there. A story from the origins of Trinacria, which almost none of the Sicilians remember or are not aware of as it should be, doing it lightly, also playing with some anecdotes, real events, songs and famous pieces that are part of my musical journey and with the “words” of those who, when they landed in Sicily, were enchanted enough to create famous works that fortunately we still have today”.

What is Stefano’s meaning for Sicily?

“She is a woman who is a lover, a friend and a friend where you can always take refuge, she welcomes you with open arms, but then, in the long run, she starts to feel tight on me again and I have to run away again! “Odi et amo””

You said you started at 20; Who is Stefano Trizzino today?

“I am what I am today thanks to my roots, where I was born and raised, feeling the need to thank my land, for what it has given me and continues to give me and what I have given to it”

Appointment then on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May at the Posta Vecchia with “Dalle mie parti”.
