VARESE – New weather alert from the Civil Protection for the risk of unstable rain. It is throughout Lombardy that a “marked instability with frequent and intermittent showers and thunderstorms” has been reported today.more widespread in the afternoon and which may also affect the plain”.
“We point out the possibility of locally strong phenomena, but with a low probability of persistent and organized events. Showers easing by evening. The transit over the Alpine arc of a more unstable impulse associated with the depression that persists over Europe – the Civil Protection alert continues – it will bring scattered precipitation from tomorrow morning 23/05, mainly downpours and thunderstorms”.
Precipitation
“Areal rainfall expected with cumulative rainfall between 15 and 30 mm/12h in the western sectors and the plain, with possible isolated peaks between 30 and 50 mm/12h in the areas affected by the storm cores. It should be noted that persistent thunderstorms will be possible at times, with a medium-low probability of strong phenomena. An intensification of the wind is also expected from the south-western quadrants on the border reliefs”.
