Athletics – Busy weekend for Runforever Aprilia

Busy weekend for the Runforever Athletics School in Aprilia. It starts on Saturday 18 May, in the afternoon, at the same time, at the Stadio dei Marmi “Pietro Mennea” in Rome with the Cadette category, at the Comunale “Le Fontane” in Sezze, with the Boys and Girls and Beginners category and at the “Raul Guidobaldi” of Rieti with the Pupils and Absolutes category.

At the Stadio dei Marmi on the new ‘black’ athletics track, the fourth edition of the “Sprint Festival” takes place where the now famous Aprilian athletes Giorgia Bono and Chiara De Noni participate in the U16 80m sprint race. At the start, divided into various series, there are 85 young athletes, some of whom aspire to obtain the minimum time (10″24) established by FIDAL in order to participate in the next Italian category championships. The series begins with the athletes with the highest accreditation; Chiara, thanks to her accreditation, participates in the penultimate series, while Giorgia is in the last series of the Top athletes, thanks to her accreditation of 10 ”33, obtained in Rieti on 4 May. For her it’s about improving her Personal Best by at least 9 cents to reach the goal of being called up to the Italian Championships. At the end of the race Giorgia finished 4th overall, stopping the time at 10″22, improving her PB by 11 hundredths and qualifying by right to participate in the Italian Championships. Chiara, who hasn’t been able to do any finishing training recently, finishes 18th with a time of 10″86. The time obtained by Giorgia is absolutely the best performance ever in the Cadette category over the distance of 80 meters in the entire province of Latina with the compliments of the Provincial Committee, which sees her maintain 4th position in the FIDAL regional ranking.

In Sezze for the Boys and Girls and Beginners category, Matilde Dolce EF10 takes to the field and runs the 150 m in 25″13 and throws the Vortex at 18.60 m, Chiara Monetti EF10 also runs the 150 m in 23″53 and throws the Vortex at 17.75 m; Lorenzo Mitrano EM5 runs the 400 m in 1’59″61, Valerio Tirino EM5 runs the 400 m in 1’45” 19 and wins the Vortex race with a throw of 14.96 m; Alessandro Campana EM8 runs the 400m in 1’40”73 and takes part in the Long Jump obtaining 1.90m; Rebecca Melfa RF runs the 600 meters in 1’56″02, placing herself in 2nd place, a few hundredths of her PB, while Matilde Toscano closes the race in 2’24″79; the walkers Giorgia Scarpetta and Lorenzo Federico took part in the 2 km race for the Boys and Girls category, closing it in 14’13”49 and 12’11”02 respectively, both obtaining the new Runforever Record in the specialty already belonging to them.

At the Guidobaldi in Rieti the races take place over two days, Saturday and Sunday. Representing the Aprilians on loan to ASD Nissolino Intesathletica we find Luca Marzocchi who participates in the Men’s 400m Absolute race, finishing in 26th place with a time of 55″62. Furthermore, there are: the students Niccolò Di Tullio and Sofia Parotto. Niccolò competes on Saturday in the 100m speed races, placing 8th out of 64 participants, with a time of 11″35 and in the 4x100m relay with his Nissolino teammates. On Sunday, however, he won the High Jump competition with the measurement of 1.86 m, far from his PB. Sofia competes on Sunday in both her Pole Vault specialty, passing the bar at 2.85 m. and placing 2nd place and in the Long Jump competition obtaining the measurement of 4.18 m.

The news arrived in the morning from the FIDAL Lazio Regional Committee of the invitation of Niccolò to represent the region on May 26th at the 40th “BRIXIA MEETING” in Bressanone on the specialty of High Jump which sees him in 4th place overall in the national ranking with the his PB of 1.94 m; Meeting that will host the top U18 athletes in the various athletic disciplines.
