The Mobility and Transport sector of the Municipality of Parma has issued the new ordinance which regulates the methods of access and transit in the preferential lanes in light of the Municipal Council resolution 125 of 10 April 2024 which updated the Parking Plan.

The ban on electric vehicles (including hybrids and plug-ins) is confirmed and they will no longer be able to use the preferential lanes. Green light, however, for transit in the preferential lanes for electric-powered motorcycles.

In general, a ban on transit is established in all preferential lanes existing in the municipal territory with the exception of the following categories of vehicles: buses and trolleybuses of the scheduled service; taxis and NCC cars; fire engines and emergency vehicles; law enforcement vehicles (service and cover); – local police vehicles; vehicles used for the transport of disabled people; tow trucks activated by the local police for the removal of vehicles in violation of current legislation; vehicles used for street sweeping and waste collection; Iren, Ireti and Tep vehicles (identifiable by a specific logo); of the Municipality of Parma, of Infomobility and of Parma Infrastrutture (identifiable by a specific logo); valuables carriers; of supervisory institutes; car-sharing service (identifiable by a specific logo); electric motorcycles – mopeds; bicycles.

The preferential lanes are one-way traffic and therefore with an absolute ban on proceeding against traffic within them.

Customer vehicles heading to hotels are allowed to transit in the preferential lane of Strada Garibaldi, in the stretch between Via Bodoni and Via Pisacane, and in the preferential lane of Viale Toscanini.

Residents in the stretch of via Montebello between via Terranova and viale Rustici are allowed to transit in the preferential lane to access the respective driveways.

Vehicles exiting from number 1/B of viale Mariotti (Notary Archive) are allowed to transit in the preferential lane heading north.
