It was launched this week treatment against tiger mosquitoes with larvicidal product in the drains and vents present in the urban centers of the municipal area of Cesena (approximately 34,000), including external school and cemetery areas. This was announced by the Municipality. The treatments, carried out until October by Cils social cooperativealso responsible for carrying out any adult-killing interventions, will have a frequency of four weekswith a reduction to three weeks in the most infested periods.

In the first days of June the larvicidal treatment service against common mosquitoes (Culex pipiens) in ditches and waterways (which extend for approximately 210 kilometres). There will be 13 treatments with weekly frequency taking into account that in the driest periods the service is suspended or reduced to the few ditches with the presence of water. The company in charge is Bonavita Servizi srl of Forlì.
The Municipality recalls that the mosquito reproduces by laying its eggs in small collections of water which can be found on both public and private land. It is necessary for citizens to adopt simple measures to limit the reproduction of mosquitoes, such as: avoiding all forms of stagnation of water in vases and saucers some flowers on the balcony or in the garden; do not collect water in tanks to water the garden; ensure that the grass is cut regularly. All citizens are also asked to carry out larvicidal treatments in the drains present within private areas. Proliferation can be kept under control by watering little and often, so as not to create stagnant depressions in the soil.
